"I can connect the Bose Lifestyle VSX516S Pioneer receiver?

I use a Bose powered subwoofer (which is a part of lifestyle 12 system - Including a CD, this sub and 5 satellites that are connected to the sub) to my new receiver, Pioneer VSX516S. I had no problem with the 5 speakers (Only those connected to the outputs of the receiver), but could not connect the sub, since the receiver only has pre-sub output, and subwoofer do not have tickets, but entry Bose exclusive. Can anyone think of any idea of settings? Thank you very much. I know this system has an internal amplifier. The reason I wanted to dispense it is that it is an older model without digital features, but the speakers are good. I have this system for 5 years and wanted to save some money.
