HDMI is a two-way cable carrying the signal makes it sound like that?
TV sound My uncle will not play through surround speakers. The DVD is connected to the speakers and the sound of the DVD is played through the speakers. The only connection between the TV and DVD player is the HDMI cable. That should be enough to transmit sound from the TV to the speakers (via the DVD player) or you need another cable?
The HDMI specification supports NTSC and PAL standard, enhanced and high definition video formats (720p, 1080i and 1080p at 60 Hz), and 8-channel, 192 kHz, 24-bit compression of digital audio on a single HDMI cable. And yet, there is no bandwidth to spare to accommodate future enhancements and new needs. Note that the support to 1080p/60Hz not mandatory and therefore OEMs may choose to implement only 1080i. In addition, beginning with HDMI ver. 1.2 (released August 05), HDMI now includes support for a single bit of audio format used in SACD (SuperAudio CD's), Direct Stream Digital.
