VGA Switch: A Space-Saving Solution for Monitoring Multiple Systems
Video Graphics Array Switch or what is otherwise known better as a VGA Switch enables switching video from multiple video sources to one display device. It eliminates the need of redundant monitors & is an essential video component where limited operating space is available. Video switch allows multiple computers to share one monitor, projector or other video display with a VGA port. These units are compatible with PCs, MACs and SUNs with VGA video as well as various other VGA video sources such as VHS or DVD players.
VGA Switch setup is done simply by connecting the video source and the display through standard VGA Cables to the inputs and outputs of the video switch. Using VGA Switches will provide clear and sharp images, while maintaining video integrity with no ghosting. The VGA switches are available in a wide range of sizes including 2, 4, and 8 port units as well as the video matrix switch version that comes in 2x2, 2x4, 2x8, 2x16, 4x4, 8x8, 16x16 & larger. Rackmount options are also available for some of the larger units. These switches support high bandwidth of 250 MHz as well as ultra high VGA resolutions upto 1920 x 1440 @ 60Hz. These switches can also be cascaded for larger applications where required. The VGA Switchers are designed for applications where multiple high resolution computer video signals must be switched to one display device. Control of the VGA Switcher is done via push buttons in front of the unit.
A Video Matrix Switch combines a video switcher and a video splitter and can be used in places where many video displays need to route and switch video from multiple video sources. Signals from a range of input sources can be distributed to various output devices, in essence creating a "matrix" pattern of interconnection possibilities. The VGA Video Matrix unit can be controlled via RS232, TCP/IP or Infra Red Remote. CAT5 support is also available for some VGA Switch Matrix Applications.
